In our Mobile Apps TechRec Series, we highlight some of our favorite apps that can help you run your business more efficiently. This month we thought we would focus on apps or add-ins for Outlook that can increase productivity and security. This month we will cover IDX Secure Mail, Bing Nearby and PayPal for Outlook.
IXD Secure Mail
Confidential or sensitive information should always be encrypted when sent via email. IXD Secure Mail allows you to send and receive secure email from your desktop, tablet or smart device. HR, financial, legal, or medical records will be stored in an encrypted form on IXD Secure Mail’s cloud based servers. Instead of emailing the documents directly to the end user, they will receive credentials to access and download the documents. After a short period of time, encrypted documents will be deleted from the server for an added layer of security.
IXD Secure Mail is free for individuals who occasionally use it. Users who prefer to use the encryption service on a more regular basis can purchase a subscription plan for $3 per month.
Bing Nearby
When coordinating an appointment or meeting outside the office, it’s important to make sure everyone knows exactly where they are going so they can get there on time. The Bing Nearby app provides instant access to Bing’s mapping features directly from our Outlook interface. Click on the Bing Nearby icon, type in the name or address of the location, and drop an info snapshot of the mapped location that includes the address, phone number, website link and more into your email. Bing Nearby is free for users with Outlook 2013 Exchange or Office365.
PayPal add-in for Outlook
PayPal is a great solution for making online payments. The PayPal add-in for Outlook makes the process of sending someone money even simpler. Just open the PayPal app inside Outlook, select the recipient’s name and Outlook will autofill the email address. Complete the payment information and your money will be sent to the recipient quickly and securely.
PayPal for Outlook is free for users with Outlook 2013 Exchange or Office365.
