Windows 7 is the next generation of Microsoft’s operating system that hopes to move users forward from Windows XP which lingered on as many found Windows Vista too difficult to use and too hardware intensive.
Windows 7 has been designed to be more user-friendly as well as more compatible with other programs and hardware. This operating system has adopted a minimalist approach and only installs the basic programs on your computer. If you want add-ons, they can be downloaded from Microsoft’s website.

Action Center – automatically monitors security features, maintenance tasks, and consolidates all alerts into a single window.
Bitlocker to Go – is an application that can encrypt data on your hard drive and portable storage devices.
Blu-Ray Support – allows your computer to read and write Blu-Ray media if you have the correct hardware.
Credential Manager – automatically saves user names and passwords to web sites, networked computers, and other resources.
DirectAccess – will let you access your corporate network, regardless of your location, as long as your corporation’s server software has been upgraded to Windows Server 2008 R2.
Virtual hard disk – is an application that lets you create a movable storage space which you can transfer from your hard drive to a portable storage device like a USB drive.
Windows Flip – is a built-in application that allows you to visually navigate between open windows without toggling from screen to screen.
XP Mode– will let you run XP compatible programs.
